To be able to use objects in a terrain, you need to have them unpacked on your workdrive. Luckily for us there are some scripts that do it automatically for us. All these scripts require you to have a workdrive set up and mounted.
Look for Arma3P
in Windows Start, an app should come up that you can open, alternatively you can go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Mikero\DePboTools\bin
and run Arma3P.cmd
from there. When it asks you for a drive enter P, on the next question press N.
After this it’s time to get something to drink and maybe walk the dog.
Once the process is finished you will have the unpacked Arma data available on your harddrive, for example at P:\a3\map_data\gdt_concrete_co.paa
you can find the texture that is used for concrete surfaces on the Arma 3 terrains.
